What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help clients with various mood disorders and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and increase well-being and healing.
Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in daily life, like trauma, illness, grief, and specific mood disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy, and some types may work better with particular problems or issues.
Benefits of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy helps build self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and strengthen coping mechanisms. Supportive psychotherapy helps clients deal with issues related to their mental health conditions, supporting them in developing long-lasting ways to endure situations in everyday life.
How Psychotherapy Works
Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between the client and the licensed provider. The process offers a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone about how you’re feeling while also learning how to process what’s happening around you.
Psychotherapy aims to create positive change in individuals seeking better emotional and social functioning to improve quality of life and overall satisfaction.
What The Process Looks Like
Each Revitalist location is equipped with an in-person or virtual licensed therapist. The client must be located within the state where the therapist is licensed.
Sessions are 45 minutes and are traditionally led by the client’s mental health diagnosis, with the treatment plan focused on reducing symptoms.
The first session will be an Intake Session where the therapist will complete a psychosocial assessment and establish an initial diagnosis and treatment plan. During the intake, the client and therapist will work together to develop the frequency of sessions.
